After years of debate, North Carolina has finally expanded Medicaid!​

Without expansion, only 41% of births are covered by Medicaid. With expansion, an additional 600,000 individuals have access to care, resulting in more healthy moms and babies. Medicaid Expansion also expands coverage for rural families by supporting rural hospitals. Many residents live in one of the state's 80 rural counties and now can be protected through Medicaid coverage.
