Communications and Advocacy Coodinator

Location: Remote                             Position Type: Part-time (10-20 hours/week)

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Communications and Advocacy Coordinator to join our team. You will manage our state voter guide efforts, facilitate meetings between Congressional staff and state-based APJ advocates, develop comprehensive communication plans, and significantly enhance our social media outreach. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with policy and advocacy teams at our sister organization, the Center for Public Justice (CPJ) to support our policy agenda.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Social Media Expansion: Develop and execute innovative strategies to enhance our social media presence, connecting with a broader audience and spreading our mission effectively.

  • Strategic Communication Planning: Create and implement a detailed communication plan that supports our campaigns and aligns with our organizational mission.

  • State-Based Advocacy Team Development: Oversee and expand our voter guide and advocacy teams in Pennsylvania and Virginia. Mentor and guide local teams in developing candidate guides for elections in Michigan, North Carolina, and Texas.

  • Advocacy Support: Coordinate with our policy and advocacy teams to organize and lead letters and discussions with state and federal legislators to ensure our members' voices are heard across all levels of government.

  • Development: Work with APJ Board to design and implement fundraising strategies.

Qualifications:

  • A personal, active, and demonstrable commitment to Christ.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Political Science, Public Relations, or a related field.

  • Experience in communications, advocacy, or a similar role, particularly within a nonprofit or political setting.

  • Proficiency using web-based communication and graphic design tools.

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital marketing strategies.

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, ability to develop relationships with potential advocacy team members.
