Christy Wauzzinski

Christy Buxton was born in St. Louis, MO. She moved with her family to Wilton, CT where she finished high school. Christy came to Christ through the Coalition for Christian Outreach's (CCO) ministry at Allegheny College where she graduated with a BA in Psychology. During her time at Alleghany, she worked in student personnel and served as a volunteer with the CCO, later joining the staff, serving as a campus minister, and ultimately Training Director. Christy married Bob Wauzzinski in 1976 and from this union came two children, Sharon and Aric.

Christy earned an MA in Foundations of Education at the University of Pittsburgh and later a Certification to teach from Whitworth College in Spokane, WA. She taught 4th and 5th grade for Burris Laboratory School at Ball State University for 15 years and was a Museum Educator for Minnetrista in Muncie, IN for 5 years. Since 2014 Christy had the remarkable joy of serving as Education Director for Pittsburgh Urban Christian School in Pittsburgh, PA where she later retired. Outside of her commitment to education, Christy gained much knowledge through her experiences as a cab driver, a cook, and a waitress.
